Morgan Voice STudio

Student Testimonials

Following are some statements from our students both Past and present:

  • Patrick Volker, baritone (VanderCook College of Music)

I am glad to have met Jason Morgan. From my first lesson, to the end of my senior year, Jason was a friendly and receptive teacher. While working through a variety of composers and styles, he helped me prepare for my college entrance auditions. My lessons with Jason propelled my voice to a level that I couldn't have ever achieved on my own, and 2 years later, I still recall his teachings when I sing.

  • Kari Croop, soprano

I started studying with Nicole in 2007 after seven years’ cumulative experience studying with other vocal teachers in Atlanta and in my home town of Harrisburg, Pa. I already had a strong voice when I came to Nicole. But thanks to her techniques and instruction, my voice has reached a level that I never imagined possible. I’ve landed leading roles in several musical theater productions and grown tremendously as a performer, adding opera arias and even Motown to my repertoire, and expanding my range well above the staff.

  • Corbin Dixon, tenor (University Of Illinois)

Jason and I started working together when I was just a Sophomore in High School. We had our first big challenge when I performed the role of Marius in CUTC's production of Les Miserables, our next when I played Father in Ragtime, and another after that when I play Roger in RENT. Although they were all tremendous challenges, I look back on these moments as some of the proudest of my young life. Since then, I was recognized as one of the top vocal jazz artists at the Illinois Music Educators Associations (IMEA) All-State conference. I performed a supporting role in the 2008 Illinois High School Theater Associations All-State production of PARADE, and was accepted into the University of Illinois School of Music program as a bachelor student in music specializing in Musical Theater. I can honestly say that without Jason's help and friendship, I would never have received the encouragement, confidence, or voice that I have today.

  • Sue Lewis, mother of 2 young singers

My daughters had been taking private lessons for two years when their instructor moved away. Nicole Branz was highly recommended by their former instructor. From the minute we met Nicole we liked her and felt very comfortable. My daughters are involved in show choir, choir and drama. Nicole has helped them improve their range, voice quality and also learn new pieces for auditions, as well as improving their self-confidence. I see a difference in my daughter's voices that I love. I would recommend Nicole Branz for anyone interested in vocal lessons.

  • Miranda Fessler, soprano (Parkland College)

I started working with Jason in the fall of 2007. I found Jason by way of my aural skills professor at Parkland College. I have grown as a soloist during my time with Jason. I was hired in the fall of 2008 as a soprano section leader at First Pres. Church in Champaign, IL. Jason also coached me through my role as the narrator in CUTC's production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in the summer of 2008. I continue to learn more as we have more lessons together. I hope to find someone as talented at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ in the fall of 2009.
